NYPD mulling $12.36 million deal with Tesla for 250 cars: Report

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is planning to purchase as many as 250 fully electric Model 3 sedans from Tesla, Bloomberg reported. The deal is expected to be worth about $12.36 million, with the NYPD paying $51,940 for each vehicle, as per a draft of the procurement contract. The NYPD bought a Model 3 for $47,740 in June.
