ODI World Cup 2027 could begin on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) with ICC considering the date as tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Cricbuzz reported. The tournament, co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, was earlier expected to start on October 4 or 8. Gandhi had travelled to South Africa as a young lawyer in 1893 and spent next 21 years there.
