Odisha civic body makes nests from coconut waste to protect birds

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation in Odisha has launched a bird-friendly pilot project which is aimed at protecting birds from the summer heatwave. The civic body installed recycled coconut coir nests on trees and water pots in the city. "We have initiated this project in two localities and have installed 100 nests so far," BMC Assistant Commissioner Lokanath Bej said.
