Odisha moves SC over panchayat polls in disputed Kotia region amid territorial row

Odisha has filed a contempt petition in the Supreme Court against the Andhra Pradesh government over its decision to hold panchayat elections in the disputed Kotia region. The region is at the centre of a territorial dispute between Odisha's Koraput district and Andhra's Parvathipuram Manyam district. Notably, a 2006 SC order directed both states to maintain status-quo in the region.
