Official who inspected Delhi hotel before fire that killed 23 sacked: Report

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has terminated the health officer who had inspected the Hauz Rani hotel a day before a fire killed 23 people, Hindustan Times reported. The MCD reportedly alleged that the officer had carried out a "superficial" inspection and recommended a license based on a "false" report. MCD has transferred another officer to the MCD headquarters.
