Oil companies reject Karnataka govt's claim of blending more than 20% ethanol in petrol
State-run OMCs rejected Karnataka government's claims of up to 31.2% ethanol in petrol, beyond the 20% (E20) cap. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum challenged the sampling and testing methodology and provided counter-evidence that nationwide samples measured safely between 19-21%. Karnataka government claimed 31.2% ethanol in Indian Oil and 30.5% in Hindustan Petroleum samples.
