UK-based oil and gas company BP on Monday announced it will be firing 10,000 of its 70,100 employees by the end of the year, comprising nearly 15% of global workforce, amid coronavirus pandemic. The affected roles will be mostly senior office-based positions and not frontline operational staff. The move follows BP's April announcement of a 25% reduction in 2020 spending.
