Oil prices fall for third straight day

Crude oil prices dropped about 1% on Thursday, falling for a third consecutive day, after Qatar said Iran and the US had made progress in indirect talks focused on the Strait of Hormuz. Brent futures fell 1.1% to $70.80/barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 1.2% to $67.74/barrel. Both benchmarks had also fallen over 1% in the previous session.
