Oil prices swing wildly over US secretary's false tanker escort through Strait of Hormuz claim

Crude oil prices swung wildly on Tuesday after US Energy Secretary Chris Wright falsely claimed that US Navy escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz and then deleted the post within minutes. WTI dipped from around $91 to $77 oer barrel, Brent crude futures fell to around $82 after surging to $95 in early trading, reports said.
