Oil spill from tanker attacked near Hormuz forces beach closures in UAE
An oil spill from a tanker attacked near the Strait of Hormuz earlier this month has been spreading along the coast of UAE, forcing beach closures. Satellite imagery showed that the spill had spread more than 35 km from the Panama-flagged tanker, blackening the water. The tanker, which was struck by an "unknown projectile", was carrying 22 Indian seafarers.
