Olympics opening ceremony director fired before ceremony for Holocaust joke

The show director of the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony has been fired one day before the event over a Holocaust joke he made in 1998. Director Kentaro Kobayashi was accused of using the joke in a comedy show, including the phrase "Let's play Holocaust." The organising committee said, "We found out that Kobayashi used a phrase ridiculing a historical tragedy."
