Oman proposes Gulf-backed Hormuz plan with voluntary fees

Oman has presented Iran with a Gulf-backed proposal for jointly managing the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported citing a Gulf source. Under the plan, Iran would share control of the strategic waterway with Oman and voluntary service fees would apply to passing ships. Iran has previously backed joint management of the strait and charging ships for related services.
