Omicron sub-lineage BA.2 dominant in Karnataka: Health Minister

As COVID-19 cases surge in the country, genome sequencing tests in Karnataka have shown that Omicron's sub-lineage BA.2 is the dominant strain in the state, as per Health Minister K Sudhakar. An Indian SARS-CoV-2 Consortium on Genomics (INSACOG) and sewage surveillance report has shown the presence of BA.3, BA.4 and BA.5 sub-lineages of Omicron in Bengaluru.
