Omicron variant is cause for concern, not a cause for panic: Biden

US President Joe Biden said the new COVID-19 variant Omicron is a "cause for concern" but "not a cause for panic". Biden added that there was no need for a lockdown "for now", "if people are vaccinated and wear their masks". He also said that the US was making contingency plans with pharmaceutical companies if new vaccines were needed.
