Once unable to buy clothes, Maha farmer invited to speak at Oxford
Maharashtra's farmer Ravindra Manikrao Metkar, who once couldn't afford clothes, has been invited to speak at Oxford University. He started poultry farming in 1984 with 100 birds and grew it to 20,000 by 2006. After losses due to bird flu, he restarted business in 2008 by taking ₹25 lakh loan. He now runs 1.8 lakh-bird farm with ₹15 crore turnover.
