ONGC announces tender worth ₹1.8 lakh cr for deepwater rigs

State-run oil company ONGC announced a global tender worth about $20 billion (over ₹1.8 lakh crore) for deepwater drilling rigs, ET reported. The company wants to hire deepwater drillships and semi-submersible rigs for a five-year offshore exploration programme. This is to boost hydrocarbon exploration as part of the Centre's Samudra Manthan mission, aimed at boosting India's energy security.
