ONGC discovers natural gas in Mahanadi Offshore Basin

ONGC found a significant natural gas pocket in the Mahanadi Offshore Basin, ~43km off Konark, Odisha, under its Samudra Manthan campaign. The deepwater well was drilled to 1,623 meters. Due to its proximity to shore and strong gas flow, ONGC may begin selling the gas soon, backed by a ₹30,000 crore investment plan.
