Only 1,600 foreigners found in 6 states where SIR was conducted: Report

In at least six states where Election Commission conducted the SIR exercise, around 1,600 foreign nationals were found, HT reported. The size of the electorate in these states is about 9.86 crore, and thousands of names were deleted there. These states are Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, Goa, Meghalaya, and Kerala. Odisha said it found suspected foreigners but didn't keep the data.
