Only 7 IAS officers among 33 new joint secretaries appointed by govt

The government has appointed 33 new joint secretaries in the Centre out of which only seven are from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and four from Indian Revenue Service (IRS). The government brought officers from other services like Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service and Indian Defence Accounts Service, among others.
