OpenAI asked Google-backed Anthropic CEO to replace Altman: Report

OpenAI's board of directors had reportedly approached rival AI startup Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei to replace ousted CEO Sam Altman and potentially merge both AI startups. Dario rejected both proposals, Reuters reported citing sources. Anthropic, which has secured investments from Alphabet's Google as well as Amazon, was founded by former senior executives of OpenAI.
