OpenAI builds its 1st in-house AI chip with Broadcom, TSMC: Report

ChatGPT-creator OpenAI is working with Broadcom and TSMC to build its first in-house artificial intelligence chip, Reuters reported. The AI startup has now dropped its plans to build a network of factories known as 'foundries' for chip manufacturing, due to costs and time constraints, the report further said. OpenAI has reportedly assembled a chip team of about 20 people.
