OpenAI hires AI researcher who had ₹1,800-crore package at Meta

OpenAI has hired Ruoming Pang, a high-profile AI researcher at Meta who joined the company from Apple about seven months ago, The Information reported. Meta had reportedly poached Pang from Apple, where he served as head of AI models. At Meta, Pang led AI infrastructure at its Superintelligence Labs and was hired with a package reportedly worth over ₹1,800 crore.
