OpenAI pulls Oracle to near 'junk' status, world's largest ratings agency calls it 'key risk'

S&P Global, the world's largest credit ratings agency, downgraded Oracle's rating from 'BBB' to 'BBB-', just one more downgrade away from being termed 'junk'. The agency cited OpenAI as a "key credit risk". "If OpenAI were unable to pay Oracle, we believe Oracle could be left with massive data centre leases that it might be unable to exit," it added.
