OpenAI's Astra cracks 108-year-old unsolved WWI German radio message

A developer named Prinz on X used OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra to decipher a 108-year-old encrypted German World War I radio message. Encoded using the ADFGVX method, the message warned of British and Allied naval movements near Crimea in November 1918. The developer claimed the AI model even "double-checked its work" against historical logbooks.
