OpenAI's Codex gets AI pets that help users vibe code

OpenAI has introduced AI pets for its coding tool Codex. These "optional animated companions" can help users vibe code by serving as a floating overlay which can provide updates while they are busy with other tasks. While there are 8 built-in pets, users can also create their own pet by installing the hatch-pet skill and then share them online.
