OpenAI to not launch $1-trillion IPO in 2026 amid fears AI 'could kill all' by decade-end
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the ChatGPT-maker will not go public with its $1-trillion IPO in 2026. This comes after two Anthropic researchers warned rapidly progressing AI development could lead to human extinction by decade-end. "Given everything happening with safety, right now would be an ill-advised moment to go public, and we don't feel pressure on that," said Altman.
