OpenAI to remain under non-profit control after criticism

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced that the startup will remain under the control of its non-profit parent. He further stated that the for-profit arm will transition to a public benefit corporation (PBC) but remain under the non-profit's control. This comes after OpenAI's initial plan to adopt a for-profit governance structure faced criticism and legal challenges, including from Elon Musk.
