OpenAI to roll out GPT-5.6 globally after US govt approval

OpenAI on Wednesday said it will launch GPT-5.6 globally after receiving approval from the US Department of Commerce after government testing under a new oversight framework. OpenAI had earlier delayed a full public launch for GPT-5.6 at the US administration's request and limited access to approved organisations. The firm will also roll out Terra and Luna models to the public.
