Opposition slams EC for hiding SIR software details

Congress, TMC leaders attacked the Election Commission after it refused an RTI query seeking details of the ECINET software used in the Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls, citing trade secrets. Congress's Jairam Ramesh alleged "centralised manipulation" of electoral rolls; Pawan Khera accused CEC Gyanesh Kumar of "blocking transparency". The EC denied developing new software for SIR.
