Oracle launches fresh layoffs amid AI spending surge

Oracle has begun a new round of layoffs, with cuts starting September 14 affecting multiple departments, some by over 10%, Business Insider reported. The company's headcount fell by 21,000, around 13% in the FY2025. Oracle is spending heavily on AI infrastructure, with $28.5 billion in Q1 capex and a $90-95 billion forecast for FY2027.
