Orange alert for 3 districts in TN, heavy rain today

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has issued an Orange Alert for Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Kanyakumari, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds today. A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen, bringing widespread showers across Tamil Nadu. Moderate rainfall is also likely in northern districts, Puducherry and Karaikal over the next two days.
