Orange alert issued for Himachal, heavy rain likely in next 2 days

IMD has issued an orange weather alert for the next two days in Himachal Pradesh. "Heavy-very heavy rain with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to take place on Friday and Saturday...causing flash floods and triggering landslides," Shimla MeT centre Director Surender Paul said. Reportedly, 49 people died in rain-related mishaps in Himachal since the onset of monsoon on June 29.
