Orange-coloured new pumpkin toadlet species discovered in Brazil

Researchers discovered a new pumpkin toadlet in Brazil's cloud forests. Its bright orange colour with unique DNA analysis confirms it differs from all other Brachycephalus frogs. Scientists located the males by their mating calls in leaf litter. Despite long-term studies, it remained hidden in the region. The tiny toadlet was found above 750 metres in the Serra do Quiriri mountains.
