Oscars announce new inclusion requirements for Best Picture category

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced new representation and inclusion standards for films to be eligible for Best Picture category. Starting from 2024, a film submitting for Best Picture will have to meet specific requirements addressing gender, race and ethnicity. The standards are designed to encourage equitable representation on and off-screen, the Academy said.
