Our nearest supermassive black hole has become active: Scientists

Scientists have observed that our closest supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, which sits at Milky Way's centre, has awakened from a dormant state and intensified by a million times. It's much larger than the Sun. Normally quiescent, the black hole became significantly brighter after consuming cosmic objects 200 years ago. The sudden increase in its brightness occurred within a year.
