Over ₹50 lakh per year spent on each Rajya Sabha MP in last 2 financial years, reveals RTI

In the last two financial years, over ₹262 crore (over ₹50 lakh/year each) was spent on the salaries, travel and allowances of all sitting Rajya Sabha MPs, an RTI revealed. The expenditure rose to ₹163 crore in FY26 from ₹98 crore in FY25, including travel, office expenses and medical bills. Over ₹151 crore was spent on allowances and travel alone.
