Over 1 lakh civilians killed in Afghan conflict since 2009: UN

The United Nations said over 1 lakh civilians have been killed in Afghan conflict since 2009. Over 3,400 people were killed in 2019 of which 62% were killed by non-government forces, mainly the Taliban and the Islamic State. The US and the Taliban have agreed to a weeklong reduction in violence after which the two will sign a peace deal.
