Over 12 lakh chemists call nationwide strike on May 20, medicine supply may be hit

The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists has called for a nationwide shutdown of chemist shops and pharmaceutical distributors on May 20. AIOCD, which represents over 12.4 lakh chemists and drug distributors, said the strike is against "unregulated functioning" of e-pharmacies and the threat to the survival of small medicine retailers. It could disrupt retail medicine supply chains.
