Over 16.6 lakh get free legal aid in FY 2025-26: Law Ministry

During FY 2025-26 (up to January), over 16.6 lakh people received free legal aid and advice, the Law Ministry told the Lok Sabha. Initiatives like DISHA, Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, and LADCS aim to enhance access to justice, legal literacy, and pro bono services, reaching millions nationwide and providing representation to undertrial prisoners and marginalised communities.
