Over 2,700 tourists stuck due to heavy snow in Sikkim rescued

Over 2,700 tourists travelling in 541 vehicles who were stuck near Sikkim's Tsomgo Lake amid heavy snowfall and road blockages were rescued on Tuesday. Sikkim's Tourism and Civil Aviation Department said that the rescue operations were undertaken in the presence of the SHO, GREF/BRO personnel, travel agencies, and other stakeholders. The department advised tourists to follow weather advisories.
