Over 20,000 Instagram accounts hijacked in Meta AI support hack

Meta has revealed that over 20,000 Instagram accounts were affected by a recent hack involving its AI-powered High Touch Support system. A bug in the system allowed attackers to request password resets using email addresses not linked to the targeted accounts. As a result, password reset links were sent to unauthorised email addresses, enabling account takeovers.
