Over 50,000 may lose Gruha Jyoti benefit in Chikkamagaluru

Over 50,000 Gruha Jyoti beneficiaries in Chikkamagaluru could lose their free electricity benefit following a verification drive. Officials found vacant houses, beneficiaries who had moved and domestic connections being used for commercial purposes. Of 3.14 lakh domestic meters, documents for 2.60 lakh consumers have been verified.
