Over 50,000 Swiggy gig workers file ITR, claim ₹6.5 cr in refunds

Over 50,000 Swiggy delivery partners nationwide have filed their Income Tax Returns (ITRs), bringing them into the formal financial system. Their refund claims totalled ₹6.5 crore, Swiggy said on Thursday, adding that over one-third of those who filed were first-timers. Their formal financial records can help them access bank loans, credit, housing rentals and other financial products.
