Over 70% of Indians who died by suicide abroad were in Gulf nations: Govt

Ministry of External Affairs said over 70% of Indians who died by suicide overseas between 2023 and 2025 were living in Gulf nations. The UAE recorded the highest number (511), followed by Saudi Arabia (354), Kuwait (162), Oman (146), Bahrain (101) and Qatar (66). Around 10 million Indians live and work in Gulf nations in sectors like construction and healthcare.
