Over 700 mutual fund schemes gave negative returns in FY26: SEBI

The number of mutual fund schemes giving negative returns jumped threefold from 243 in FY25 to 731 in FY26, according to a SEBI report. The number of schemes delivering more than 10% returns also fell from 304 to 198. The market regulator described the overall environment as a "subdued return environment" driven by market volatility.
