Over 700 tankers jam Strait of Hormuz

Roughly 706 non‑Iranian tankers are stacked on both sides of Strait of Hormuz amid disruption of global oil flows through the strait. On March 1, only three tankers carrying 2.8 million barrels crossed Hormuz, an 86% plunge from 2026 daily average of 19.8 million barrels. This comes amid closure of Strait of Hormuz by Iran as Middle East war escalates.
