Over 8,400 challans issued across Delhi on New Year’s Eve

Delhi partied like never before on New Year’s Eve. But as 2026 began, the city also recorded a sharp rise in traffic violations. Drunk driving fines jumped by over 200%, with Delhi Police issuing more than 8,400 challans through the night. Most fines were linked to driving under the influence, parking violations and other traffic offences.
