After UEFA said FIFA's decision to suspend USA forward Folarin Balogun's red-card ban "crossed a red line", FIFA responded, "Reviewing the legal consequences of red cards is nothing new in modern football." The "overturning of red cards is a common disciplinary measure" in UEFA-affiliated leagues, FIFA said, adding, "Yet this has never raised concerns about crossing any 'red line'."
