Owners of Nokia will never use 'Nokia' brand name again

Nokia phone maker HMD Global has announced discontinuing the iconic brand for smartphones, pivoting to its own "HMD" label instead from 2024 amidst its expiring 10-year licensing deal. Hinting Nokia feature phones may continue, it teased an original portfolio spanning smart devices, accessories and "newstalgic" models. First HMD-branded phones could debut at MWC Barcelona next month.
