Oxford Dictionary updates definition of woman, labels synonym 'b**ch' as offensive
Oxford University Press has updated its dictionaries' definitions of 'woman' following a review triggered by equality campaigners. Among the updates is the acknowledgement that a woman can be "a person's wife, girlfriend, or female lover", rather than only a man's. Labels have been applied to terms identified as 'derogatory' or 'offensive', such as 'b**ch', listed as synonym for woman.
